While TWRP custom recovery process in Google Pixel devices aren’t that easy as usual like the Fastboot method due to A/B partitions. Firstly, if you’re using any Pixel device and want to boot in TWRP, you need to boot TWRP via using a Fastboot image and then you can flash the preferred ZIP file via that TWRP.
The developers and all the interested Google Pixel 3 series users can Unlock the Bootloader and Root their devices with Magisk. Just connect your device to PC after enabling USB Debugging and run Fastboot and ADB command, then reboot to bootloader > unlock it. After that, you can root your Pixel 3 device easily via Magisk manager with TWRP image file. If you’re a normal user or don’t know what you’re doing actually then just avoid these things.
