Bing Chat Arrives on Google Chrome and Safari

Since February 2023, logged-in Microsoft account users were only able to use Bing Chat on Microsoft Edge or the Bing application. Several users are quite disappointed with the limited usage of the alternative methods to access the Bing AI chatbot on different browsers. But Microsoft listened to the users and the wait is over now.

Though the Bing AI chatbot feature is under the beta testing phase and restricted to limited users, selected users will receive a pop-up notification on the Windows 10/11 taskbar that says ‘Bing AI is ready to use in Google Chrome or Safari’.

However, if you haven’t received any notification regarding the same yet then don’t worry. Now, let’s check the steps to use Bing AI chat in any browser.

How to Use Bing AI Chat in Any Browser (Google Chrome and Safari)

To simply use the Bing AI chatbot feature on any web browser, especially on Google Chrome or Apple Safari, you’ll need to head over to the official Bing.com website and then sign into a valid Microsoft account. Once done, click on the Chat option in the top navigation bar to start using it.

But if you’re unfortunate enough to not be able to use Bing Chat on other browsers except the Microsoft Edge browser then you’ll have to wait for the public release for all browsers. Currently, you can manually try using the Chrome or Safari browser to use the Bing AI chat. To do so: (for instance, we’ll give an example with Chrome)

    • Open the Chrome browser on the PC/Mac.
    • From the new tab, go to the bing.com/new website.
    • Click on the Sign In option from the top right corner.
    • Now, use your valid Microsoft account to log in.
    • Then click on the Chat now button to start.
    • A new tab will open automatically with Bing AI Chat.
    • Here you can find multiple recommendations to choose from.
    • Otherwise, you can try using your customized queries whatever you want.
    • Additionally, you can choose a conversation style from 'More Creative', 'More Balanced', or 'More Precise'.
      • By default, the ‘More Balanced’ conversation style has been selected.

If you’re using a Safari browser or any other web browser on the PC/Mac then the steps will be the same as you’re accessing the chatbot directly via the official Bing website.

Is There Any Difference between Bing Chat on Other Browsers?

Well, there are some functions limited on Chrome and Safari as compared to Microsoft Edge. For instance, Bing Chat in Chrome allows you up to five messages per conversation as compared to 30 messages per conversation on Microsoft Edge.

While there are character limitations on Chrome up to 2,000 which is less as compared to Edge where you’ll get up to 4,000 characters. Additionally, you might get the pop-up multiple times while using Bing Chat on Google Chrome or Safari that literally asks you to switch to Microsoft Edge for improved results.

It’s also worth mentioning that Microsoft has included dark mode support to the chatbot which looks good and subtle to your eyes. However, this feature isn’t available for everyone as of now.
