Samsung officially announced its long-awaited Galaxy Glasses at a virtual Galaxy Unpacked event, demonstrating a significant step into the augmented reality (AR) wearable market. This is the result of a joint development with Google and is powered by the Gemini AI platform. These smooth glasses will revolutionise the way users consume digital content in their day-to-day lives.

Costing $ 399.99 and available for pre-order on Samsung.com, with shipments beginning on September 5th, the Galaxy glasses are poised to dominate tech news and top Google’s headlines, as the tech community increasingly seeks solutions that provide complete immersion and practical use of AR.

    Sleek Design Meets Cutting-Edge AR

Minimalism has won the Galaxy Glasses through its lightweight design, a mere 50 grams, and the small frame, which is comparable to normal eyewear. They are designed from strong titanium and high-strength polymer, making them comfortable to wear throughout the day and resistant to everyday demands.

The glasses come in Black, Silver and Frost Blue, with transparent AR lenses and a field of view of 70 degrees, which displays clear and vivid notifications, navigation, and media overlays. The lenses adjust to light in the environment so that you can see when it’s bright outside and when it’s dark inside.

The integrated micro-LED projectors display the information on the lenses, and a discrete 12MP camera enables the recognition of gestures and scanning of the environment. Inbuilt speakers and a high-sensitivity microphone accommodate voice commands and hands-free phone calls, which Gemini AI then powers to seamlessly interrelate with apps and devices. Professionals, gamers and casual users can conveniently use the Galaxy Glasses because Samsung pays attention to the intuitive and non-obstructive technology.

Immersive Features for Work and Play

The Galaxy Glasses transform AR functionality by introducing real-time capabilities, which seamlessly integrate digital elements with the real world. Users can use navigation prompts and translate foreign reading immediately, as well as view contextual application alerts without needing to look at their phones.

To be productive, the glasses are built into the Samsung ecosystem and are voice-responsive or gesture-responsive to control Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and smart home devices. Players will enjoy AR-based experiences and immersive overlays on compatible mobile and PC games.

There is an additional layer with the so-called health monitoring, where subtle sensors detect the eye movement, and based on the state of fatigue, the appropriate break is recommended, which is very appropriate in the case of a long workday.

Fitness apps can also be used with the glasses, which display real-time workout data, such as heart rate and distance, when paired with a Galaxy Watch. Privacy is valued, and the use of an LED indicator is employed to indicate when the camera is on and encrypting data during processing to secure user information.

    Robust Performance and Connectivity

The Galaxy Glasses are powered by a specialised Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 chip, providing smooth performance in both AR rendering and AI processing. A 200mAh battery provides up to 6 hours of uninterrupted use and features a quick-charge option, which takes 20 minutes to charge to 50% over USB-C.

The battery is reliable, providing a maximum standby time of 48 hours to be worn daily. Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E provide high-speed and reliable connectivity to connected devices, supporting Android 10+ and iOS 14+, ensuring wide accessibility.

The glasses have a very high level of functionality, allowing them to operate in a wide range of temperatures, from -10 °C to +50 °C, making them highly applicable in various environmental conditions. The Samsung AR Companion application, available on Google Play and the App Store, enables customisation of display settings and app integration, with support for multiple languages to cater to a global audience.

    Pricing, Availability, and Market Impact

The Galaxy Glasses are sold at a price of $ 399.99, which is cheaper than other brands, such as the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, and offer more AR features. Today, pre-orders were launched in the online store samsung.com, and shipping to all corners of the globe through DHL and FedEx begins on September 5, 2025, and free delivery to customers who order more than 200 USD.

There is a complimentary protective cover and a 20% discount on a Galaxy Watch 8 for early adopters. The buzz is already in tech reviewers declaring the glasses a leap forward in mainstream AR adoption.

With AR wearables on the rise in 2025, Samsung’s combination of low cost and high quality, coupled with its presence in the ecosystem, will position the Galaxy Glasses at the top of search engine results and dominate headlines.
