The Chinese smartphone manufacturing company ZTE is going through the bad time. The US market entry ban is giving too much pressure and loss to the company to buy Qualcomm chips and Android License revocation. Nubia smartphones are also not getting that much of market, so its hard to carry on. In spite of all the issues, ZTE filed a patent copyright for dual notch smartphone. The company seems quite confident and affirmative in this segment. The developers are trying too hard to do something better for the company and consumers.
The new patent copyright filed for dual notch smartphone to China’s State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) by ZTE. A few weeks ago another dual notch smartphone patent file was revealed as “ZTE Iceberg”. This one is the second attempt. Hopefully, just like the single notch display, the dual notch display could also gain the market and will create a dual notch family.
Design and Placement of Dual Notch Smartphone
ZTE too much confident in this dual notch display segment. We have already seen so many notch display devices from tip to toe and flagship to mid-range categories. But this time, ZTE working on dual notch display smartphones. One notch will be placed as usual on the top of the display cutout and another will be placed under the display. The upper notch will contain the front camera and in-ear speaker or sensors and the second notch will contain most probably the home button or microphone or maybe a blank cutout to show-off the notch.
The previous patent design of ZTE Iceberg contains the upper notch with the front camera and earpiece, whereas the second notch contains blank space. Another leaked image showing a single front camera cutout notch display just like the Essential Phone. So it’s hard to give a conclusion right now.
The new dual notch smartphone will have a horizontal dual rear camera module with a LED flash which is also looking quite prominent. The dedicated fingerprint sensor is placed at the back under the dual camera setup. The 18:9 aspect ratio display will have very thin bezels which are nominal. It is expected to support face unlock as well, the device could have a micro USB port for charging and data syncing.
There is no more information about the launch date or pricing yet. Due to the problem with the US market entry, ZTE will face some issues and could set for launch the device in next year probably. So if you are a notch lover then it could be a better option for you.
