MIUI 10 Overview

We all are using Xiaomi devices over MIUI 9 interface right now. This one is quite light and faster as well but the new upcoming MIUI 10 customized Android ROM will be fully featured and integrated with AI features. The tagline is about “Faster Than Lightning” for MIUI 10 user interface. But this version will only be available from Marshmallow or higher version running devices. Though there are most of the phones are running Marshmallow and Nougat versions from few months that means most of the devices will cover the new update very soon except outdated models.

The company already rolled out latest MIUI 9.5 Global update to most of the current and eligible devices.

The company already rolled out latest MIUI 9.5 Global update to most of the current and eligible devices. SO there will be a no issue for all those models. In a couple of months, Xiaomi will start rolling out MIUI 10 update to the supported devices through batches via OTA. The MIUI 10 will feature customized and improved App Vault menu with more lock screen customizations and notification panel integration to give it a perfect look and feel.

Like iPhone X and Android P screen gesture navigation, Xiaomi will also include this feature in MIUI 10. Though the Android P beta update not announced for Xiaomi Mi 8, still we can expect it to get rolled out very soon after the device launch.

We expected to launch Xiaomi Mi 7 for a long time but after so many leaks and rumors, the company launching Xiaomi Mi 8 flagship grade smartphone for the company’s 8th anniversary. This one will be the first-ever smartphone to launch with MIUI 10 preinstalled. The leaked report says that the Xioami Mi 8 will feature the Structured Light 3D Facial Recognition Unlock module into the notched cut-out just like the Apple iPhone X. The iPhone X was launched last year with the first ever structured light 3D facial recognition support. Though the unlock system not working well in a low light condition.

The 3D Face ID will help to authenticate by scanning all over the face structure and depth fields for more accuracy level and collect data to unlock screen via the front camera. The structured light analyzes and collects around over 30,000 invisible dots of the whole face includes eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jawline etc. It also captures the infrared image of the face to match the data. The Apple A11 Bionic chip is capable of doing the Face ID unlock over iOS which is fully integrated with Algorithm process.

Now the Xiaomi will also do the same thing with latest MIUI 10 custom ROM. Now it will nice to see that how much the Face Unlock feature will work appropriately and faster. Xiaomi is also stepping towards so-called Notch family segment just like Apple iPhone X. But the notch of Xiaomi Mi 8 seems a little bit of wider than iPhone X notch module. Everyone is doing the same thing what Apple has done. Instead of this, Xiaomi should go for Under Display Fingerprint Sensor with no bezels and that will work much better than this.

Now the Xiaomi will also do the same thing with latest MIUI 10 custom ROM. Though a leaked image shows two of the screen panels with a little bit of screen size difference.
