Samsung has finally announced the most anticipated and rumored foldable phone called Galaxy Fold at ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event in San Francisco on Wednesday, February 20. Almost all the rumors and leaks seem to come true with this launch.
Galaxy Fold, a foldable smartphone
Samsung’s foldable smartphone comes with a dual display which offers a decent 4.6-inch screen while folded but it turns into a massive 7.3-inch when unfolded. As expected, the device features a whopping 12GB of RAM and the 512GB internal storage variant.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Fold smartphone powers up by the dual batteries to provide more power and battery standby during unfolded screen usage. Both the batteries are placed on the two parts/folds of the Samsung Galaxy Fold to maintain the weight and thickness.
Samsung will sell both the 4G LTE and 5G variants of this model which will support most of the mobile carriers.
Camera Features
The most significant feature of this device will be its cameras. Samsung will bring a total of six cameras with this handset and that’s really huge. The main rear camera module has triple sensors of 16MP+12MP+16MP arrangement. While the dual cameras feature inside of foldable phone of 10MP+8MP. Last the single 10MP front camera will be available for taking selfies with AI mode.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold, a foldable smartphone does have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which we have seen in Samsung Galaxy S10E model also. In addition, you need to know that Samsung has launched Galaxy S10, S10 5G, S10 Plus, and S10E models.
Carrier, Availability, and Price
However, Samsung’s foldable device will launch in the US first due to the availability for the T-Mobile and AT&T carrier users only in the US. Although, there is no confirmation for the global availability by the company yet. Still, we can expect this revolutionary phone should launch worldwide.
As we all know that Android developers are already working on the interface compatibility for the foldable screens. Samsung will also work on the changeable screen size ratio from folded phone to unfolded tablet.
The South-Korean manufacturer claims that the 5G version will be 10-times faster than current devices. Meanwhile, the strategy analysts expecting that the competitor Apple can release this kind of 5G smartphone by the end of 2020.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold will go on sale on April 26 and will take advantage of faster 5G mobile networks. The starting price of this handset will be $1,980 which is too pricey but we have to accept the technology and features side by side for the first time also. Rest of the newly launched Galaxy S10 will be priced from $900, S10+ $1,000, and S10E $750.
While the Galaxy S10 5G variant price isn’t unveiled yet, we can expect the starting price would be around $1,100 approximately.
