Display and Design

The display and design seem a little bit of similar to Oppo R17 device. Just like the R17, OnePlus 6T features a 6.4-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED 19.5:9 aspect ratio display with a waterdrop or teardrop notch style. It features 2.5D Gorilla Glass 6 Protection out of the box with water-resistant support. However, there is no IP certification mentioned by the company. The display also comes with the In-Display Fingerprint Sensor like few other flagship smartphones. This one is called “Screen Unlock” by OnePlus.

The form factor of this device seems great and this time the display is quite bigger than the OnePlus 6. The bottom chin area is also slightly thinner than before. The back side of the device contains a dual rear camera setup with a LED flash and OnePlus branding. The metallic type matte finish will give a premium look without any smudges.

Hardware Specifications and Performance

The handset is powered by the latest 2.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. The device is paired with 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM along with 128GB and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage capacity. This time the company doesn’t want to provide any MicroSD card slot. The OnePlus 6T is running on Android 9 Pie over latest OxygenOS custom skin out of the package with latest security patch as well.

The OnePlus 6T is packed with a 3,700mAh battery with OnePlus Dash charging support. However, there is no support for wireless charging on the device. The handset includes all the major connectivity features like dual nano-SIM, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and USB Type-C. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack this time. The phone also features Dirac HD Sound, Dirac Power Sound, and sensors such as Hall, Accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity, RGB Ambient Light, E-Compass, Sensor Core etc.

OnePlus 6T Camera Details

The device features a smaller teardrop notch this time only for a single selfie camera placement. The front comes with a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The Sony IMX371 sensor is relatively powerful which can take 1080P videos with OIS support. There are so many options like AI portrait mode, beauty mode etc.

On the rear side, the device having a dual rear 16MP primary and a 20MP secondary sensor with f/1.7 aperture lens. The primary camera features Sony IMX519 with 1.22µm pixels and the secondary camera features Sony IMX376K with f/1.7 aperture, dual tone dual LED flash, OIS, PDAF, Panorama, and newly introduced Night Scape mode also. The Night Scape mode is quite similar to the Google Pixel 3 camera’s Night Shot mode. The OnePlus team claims that this feature will take brighter images in low light conditions within a lesser time frame.
