The HMD Global (The House of Nokia) finally launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphones in New Delhi, India on Tuesday, August 21. In this post, we will talk about the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The device was already launched in China last month in the name of Nokia X6. The device houses a display notch which contains a single front camera, an earpiece, and sensors. It also can be hideable from the device settings which is a great option. The round screen edges feel and look good with a 19:9 aspect ratio display. The handset is running on Android One platform which assures the frequent and stable Android updates with the latest security patch updates as well from Google up to two years.

Nokia 6.1 Plus – Specifications and Features

The Nokia 6.1 Plus (Nokia X6 in China) comes with a decent 5.8-inch IPS Full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. It does have Corning Gorilla glass and 2.5D curved glass protection on the front and back. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with a 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and the 64GB e-MMC 5.1 internal storage option. The storage can be expandable up to 400GB via MicroSD card.

The device is running on stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box over the Android One platform and will get the latest Android 9.0 Pie update very soon. The Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone does have the dual rear camera of a primary 16MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture lens and 1µm pixels, whereas the secondary 5MP monochrome sensor does have the f/2.4 aperture lens and 1.12µm pixels with dual-tone LED flash. On the front side, the smartphone features a single 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and 1µm pixels. Both the rear and front camera can capture portrait shots, HDR, and the front camera features Face Unlock support also.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone does have the hybrid SIM slot (nano-SIM) including other connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, a single speaker with a smart amp, USB Type-C port etc. It includes the Ambient light sensor, Proximity, Accelerometer, Compass, Gyro, and the rear Fingerprint Sensor as well. The device is packed with a 3,060mAh battery (no fast charging support) which can last for a long day on a single charge reportedly.

Nokia 6.1 Plus – Price and Availability in India

The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes in three colors like Black, Blue, and White option. The Indian variant is only available in 4GB/64GB option which is priced at Rs.15,999 only. The handset will be available via Flipkart and Nokia online stores exclusively from August 30 reportedly. The pre-orders will start from today onwards.
