Today Lenovo launched another ThinkPad edition in a Black color variant that looks cool and elegant. The reliability and durability of all ThinkPad generation laptops are great. The starting price is $2,099 (Rs. 1,37,129 approx). The combination of the classic keyboard with premium specs and design with nice built quality turns on the first impression.

The edition of ‘ThinkPad’ branding could tell everything about this model. The carbon-fiber chassis helps the laptop to hold the device look with a smoother texture feeling. I think that’s why Lenovo give it the name of ‘X1 Carbon’ – maybe.

This one has the dual 720P HD camera setup of ‘Think Shutter Camera Privacy’ from which the secondary camera will work as an IR camera for Windows Hello Face recognition. The carbon fiber chassis helps to reduce the weight of the laptop. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with a 14-inch Full-HD IPS anti-glare display with 1920 x 1080 resolution along with 300 nits.
The keyboard buttons are slightly curved for better grip and user accessibility without any issues. The gap between button is also quite satisfactory in terms of other keypads. The X1 Carbon comes with Intel 6th to 8th Gen with Core i7 with vPro processor which features 1.9GHz to 4.2GHz turbo-boost along with 8MB Cache. The integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics with 16GB of LPDDR3 2133 MHz onboard RAM is good enough for better performance. It supports up to 1TB PCIe-NVME (Non-Volatile Memory Express) OPAL2.0 SSD storage capacity.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon has an integrated Li-ion 57 W/hr battery with a USB-C power adapter that supports Rapid Charge Technology which can last up to 15 hours of moderate usage. The Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth v4.1 connectivity are available. There are two USB 3.0 ports, two Intel Thunderbolt 3.0 ports, 3.5 audio and microphone combo jack, 4-in-1 microSD card reader, HDMI port and an ethernet port available on this laptop.
The laptop runs on Windows 10 Pro and Home 64-bit edition. It has a Kensington lock slot, dTPM 2.0, Fast Identity Online Authentication feature. The active touch screen is also available with a touch pen. The active noise-cancellation with a dual-array far-field microphone comes in handy. The Integrated Global Mobile Broadband LTE-A feature will also be available from May 2018.
