Apple on Wednesday, September 12 announced three new iPhones for 2018 generation with a huge price tag. The base model iPhone XR with 6.1-inch LCD panel price starts from $749 which isn’t affordable at all. While the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max sports 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED display. All the three iPhones support dual-SIM (eSIM) and dual standby. Last year Apple debuted a most innovative smartphone called iPhone X with a notch display and so many other features that are still trending and other companies want to do the same. But this year the 2018 iPhone lineup isn’t that innovative or great in terms of price point.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max Specifications and Features
Both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max runs on iOS 12 out of the box with Apple A12 Bionic chipset. The A12 Bionic is the successor of the previous generation A11 Bionic chip and made on a 7nm process. The hexa-core Apple A12 Bionic chipset based on 2 performance cores which are up to 15 percent faster and 40 percent power efficient. Whereas, the 4 efficiency cores are up to 50 percent power efficient than the last-gen A11 chip. The iPhone XS sports a 5.8-inch OLED Super Retina display with a notch consists 1125×2234 pixels resolution. On the other side, the iPhone XS Max features a huge 6.5-inch OLED Super Retina notched panel with a resolution of 1242×2688 pixels.
All the three iPhones are comparatively packed with a bigger battery and the A12 chip provides a slightly more battery backup in terms of iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X – as per Apple Senior Vice President Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB internal storage option with never mentioned 3GB and 4GB of RAM capacity. Both the devices have the surgical-grade stainless steel frame with glass protection on both sides with IP68 water and dust resistance rating. Whereas, the iPhone XR does have the aluminum body with an IP67 rating. This time Apple don’t include the Touch ID or 3D Touch support.
iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max Cameras
These two handsets feature advanced Face ID with the infrared and dot projector technology. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max feature dual rear camera of a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture wide-angle lens and the secondary 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens. The rear camera sports a 6-element lens with 2x optical zoom and an advanced True Tone quad-LED flashlight at the back. On the front, the 7MP selfie camera features a f/2.2 aperture with an RGB sensor.

The iPhone XS price starts at $999 for the 64GB variant, the 256GB variant priced at $1149, and the 512GB model priced at $1349. Whereas, the iPhone XS Max has a starting price tag of $1099 for the 64GB model, $1249 for the 256GB variant, and $1449 for the 512GB variant.

Both the models will start pre-order from September 14 and start shipping from September 21 onwards. These devices will be available from September 28 in India at above-mentioned price tags with Gold, Space Grey, and Silver color option.
